Lighting is everything, whether you work within the health and beauty industry or not.
Here are some tips for creating the best lighting: -DON'T backlight your subject! If facing your light source is too harsh, find some shade. -Use natural light whenever possible! Most indoor lighting will create a yellow cast to your subject. -Ring lights are your friend. They are generally inexpensive and provide even, diffused, white lighting. -When in doubt, underexpose rather than overexpose. You can brighten the photo later, but you won't be able to recreate detail lost in an overexposed photo. -Play with angles and don't let perfection slow you down. A photo you took on the fly might have better lighting and composition than one you spent ten minutes setting up.
